“Real leadership is leaders recognizing that they serve the people that they lead.” – Pete Hoekstra
Pastor Perry Jones Jr. was born in Clinton, Louisiana. He is married to Loretta Adams Jones and is the proud father of four daughters: Regina, Dana, Kaylynn, and Trinity.
Rev. Jones was a deacon for eight years at the Asphodel Baptist Church of Jackson Louisiana. In 2005, after these eight years Rev. Jones felt the call of God on his life and humbly submitted to the ministry of preaching under the leadership of Pastor Roy Miller at Asphodel. Realizing that a call to preach is a call to preparation, Rev. Jones was enrolled in the St. John Bible Institute of Baker Louisiana where he finished with a three year certificate. After two years of ministry at Asphodel, Rev. Jones then moved his membership to the Second Baptist Church of Wilson Louisiana, under the leadership of Pastor John Sanders. It was in the year 2010 that Rev. Jones finished up the Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree from Louisiana Baptist University. In 2017 Pastor Jones completed the Master of Discipleship at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently he is completing the Doctor of Ministry from Clamp Divinity School of Anderson South Carolina.
Since Pastor Jones has been Pastor, the church has grown spiritually, financially and numerically. Pastor Jones is a visionary who wants to see lives changed and the well-being of every individual improve. He believes that if you surrender to Christ he will take care of you. Pastor Jones is humbled and continues to be amazed at the great works that God is doing at Mt. Pleasant.
Pastor Jones is a leader in the community as he is concerned about the welfare of the children and the community as a whole.
